Preventative medicine: At the Northarlington Animal Clinic, we believe that it is almost always easier (and more affordable!) to prevent disease rather than treat it! Physical examinations, vaccinations, heartworm testing and regular lab work are just a few of the ways that we try to identify and prevent illnesses.
Client education is the cornerstone of our preventative medicine program. We encourage annual wellness examinations for all pets under 7 years old and twice-a-year wellness examinations for all pets over 7 years old. We also recommend annual heartworm tests and parasite panels. We vaccinate pets based on both a lifestyle evaluation and regional health threats.
Surgery: Our surgical suite includes isoflourane gas anesthesia. We perform a variety of surgical procedures including spays, neuters, declaws, and soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
Dentistry: We use an ultrasonic scaler and polisher for quick and efficient dental cleanings, as well as a dental x-ray machine. We also perform tooth extractions and other minor oral surgeries.
Laboratory: We perform most routine lab procedures in our office, with results the same day. For those procedures we cannot do in our office, we use a local laboratory, with most results within 24-48 hours.
Radiology: Our facilities allow you to have results while you wait. We are pleased to offer our clients the sharp, clear images of digital radiography. Digital imaging enables us to process x-rays quickly and, if necessary, e-mail them to specialists at other hospitals.
FlavoRx: FlavoRx is a compounding system which allows us to turn even the most bitter pills into tasty flavored liquids like fish, chicken and peanut butter, just to name a few!
Medications, Pet Food & Pet Supplies: We maintain an in-house pharmacy, which allows us to fill prescriptions for your pet quickly and conveniently. We also offer prescription diets from Hills, Purina, IVD, and Iams, and selection of nutritional supplements, flea & tick products, grooming aids, odor/stain removers, and collars and leashes.
